Creating Awareness for the Lois Hole Hospital for Women
WCFW is proud to create awareness and raise funds for the Lois Hole Hospital for Women. Stay tuned for more information about our new unique design competition in support of the hospital, and read on for details about their da Vinci Robotic Surgical System.
da Vinci Robotic Surgical System at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women
The Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation is fundraising for the purchase of a dedicated women’s health da Vinci Robotic Surgical System at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women. This will be the very first robot dedicated specifically to women’s cancer surgery in Canada.
The da Vinci Robotic Surgical System will be an important advancement in the treatment and care for women with gynecological cancers. This robot will be used to treat women with cancers of the cervix, uterus and endometrium, and will transform what it means to have cancer surgery.
With a minimally invasive approach, da Vinci surgery allows the doctor to operate through a few tiny incisions instead of a large open incision. The da Vinci also provides the ability to be more precise and offers greater control and dexterity as doctors perform these often complex surgeries.
Patients experience incredible benefits including less pain, less scarring, a shorter hospital stay and overall a dramatically reduced recovery time—this is significant because this means that women can get back to their lives faster. What this means is more time, and what a gift that is.
The Lois Hole Hospital for Women provides excellence in care to women of all ages and in all stages of life, and this latest technology positions our hospital to continue to be at the forefront for our grandmothers, mothers, our daughters, our sisters, and our friends.
All women deserve to have the best medical treatment available when they need it.
We deserve da Vinci!
