Participate in WCFW: Designers + Retail Community
Western Canada Fashion Week (WCFW) provides a showcase for local, Canadian and international designers. Our local talent is given the opportunity to work in a progressive environment, allowing them to grow and develop in the fashion community. WCFW continues to evolve each season along with our designers. Since the fall of 2005, we have fostered a design community that engages local and Canadian media, buyers and the general public. We also continually receive international attention from designers, media, buyers and the fashion industry.
Up-and-coming designers can present their fashion on the runway at our bi-annual shows. WCFW collaborates with other agencies, businesses and schools to provide designers with opportunities to advance their design careers. The Western Canada Fashion Week Incubator Program was launched to help Western Canada’s fashion entrepreneurs gain exposure at the national and international level.
We work year round to promote our designers, who have participated in numerous events, including:
- Couture For Cambodia
- Edmonton International Fringe Festival
- Fashion on Fire
- Lois Hole Hospital for Women
- Kingsway Mall “Let Your Light Shine” Campaign
- Old Strathcona Fashion Extravaganza
- The Works Art & Design Festival
- TransCanada Runway (Montreal)

Unique to WCFW, the Retail Showcase was developed to support shopping districts and local businesses. Our goals are to provide our Fashion Week reach and create new marketing opportunities for you to promote your business to the WCFW audience by the way of media and a New York-style runway show. Retailers who work closely with us on their presentation can maximize the success of their showcase, and we look forward to collaborating with you to create a powerful event. Each retailer can show two or more outfits.
Retailers are responsible for providing:
- Your own models – you can choose models from any agency or the WCFW model go-see (or your showcase can arrange models as a group)
- Professional hair and makeup for your models (done on individual basis or as a group)
- A 2 x 10 inch sign with your business name
- An entry fee

On-Site Vendors | Style Gallery
The Style Gallery is the vendor area in the foyer of the ATB Financial Arts Barns that runs at every fashion week event. It is a great venue for local clothing and jewelry designers as well as artists to showcase and sell their items to a style-conscious audience across all demographics. Vendors can run for the full eight days, or for a portion of fashion week.

During each fashion week, WCFW partners with the Old Strathcona Business Association (OSBA) to turn Whyte Avenue into Fashion Avenue. Old Strathcona is a vibrant area that has always supported entrepreneurs and creative enterprises. For Fashion Avenue, stores along and around 82nd Avenue/Whyte Avenue offer promotions for customers in conjunction with WCFW, such as in-store draws. Retailers on the avenue can also participate on the runway at WCFW’s Whyte Avenue Retail Showcase.
